So Much To Be Grateful For

Happy Fall!

I'm a little behind in posting (again!).
Jaden is doing well in Won Dang.
Although he gets along with his companion,
I think it's the first time he's been with someone who really doesn't share the same interests.
Most of his companions have been musical, or have loved science, etc.
The elder he's currently serving with is a surfer from southern California,
and actually played water polo for USC!

After only a few weeks in Won Dang, they were able to baptize Brother Moon,
a 14 year old young man.  Jaden said he's doing great, and they even got to
to to the temple with him.

I forgot to post this picture last time.  It's at a mission conference.
Jaden's forehead can be seen right below where the hymn numbers are posted!
Of course his would be the hidden face!  Still, it's impressive to see
so many missionaries together!

Jaden continues to go hiking on p-days.
He sent these beautiful pictures a few weeks ago:
(I don't know what the city is.)

I'm thinking those shorts have been put away!  He indicated last night that it's turned cold.
He wishes he was enjoying the Utah weather!
I need to remember that when I'm hot or cold here,
he usually has it a bit worse!

Last night Jaden also indicated that the work is going well.
His e-mails have been a bit shorter lately, so he didn't give any details!
(Need to talk to him about that!)
He did send a couple of pictures with others he's been working with.

The brother in the wheelchair is a member, but doesn't go to church.
Jaden has had many opportunities to teach and serve him.
The other gentleman is Jaden's friend, Bob.  That's all I know about him.

Jaden continues to do well.  I'm so grateful for the opportunities
he's had to serve others.  That's what it's all about!

A Year in Korea!

Yesterday marked a year since Jaden arrived in Korea.
I know it was quite an adjustment for him,
but after what he did last week, I think he's adjusted!
(I'll show you at the end of this post.)

Jaden seems to be enjoying his new area, Won Dang.
He even got to shoot a bow and arrows on p-day which is something he loves to do!

He also sent a picture of the Han River, and across the river is the Seoul South Mission.
(Jaden is in the Seoul Mission.)  I thought it was a beautiful picture.

Jaden was made a senior companion, but he feels he has learned so
much from his companion.  Ever so humble, that boy!

He did have a fun experience on the subway.  Not so fun for me to hear, though!
I'll share what he wrote:

Okay. One other experience. So, we had a big conference for the Korean Thanksgiving on Saturday. Which means we took the Subway. I've taken the subway plenty of times before, but its been a while since I've rode one so often and for so long. We're coming home after our conference, and I thought we were getting off in two stops. I asked another Elder and he said we were going to wait and get off in about 8 stops. So I started talking to a guy with some hot pink socks. All of a sudden, I realize that I'm the only missionary on the subway. Yikes. I'm REALLY glad I learned how to say "borrow" because I asked the guy to borrow his phone. I'm also REALLY glad I memorized our number already, and I called Elder Fisher and let him know all was well and I would meet back up with him in just a minute. No worries, I made it back in one piece. I'm really grateful for kind people who let silly American kids use their phones!!!!

Okay, I just needed to take a deep breath.  He was okay, and it's a learning experience
for him...just all part of growing up!

Jaden also celebrated his 20th birthday a couple of weeks ago.
I always made him a German chocolate cake with coconut pecan frosting.
All he wanted for his birthday was a white shirt and for me to send him
a cake mix and frosting!  (I did send a few other things.)
He sent a picture of his cake, and also what he ate for lunch and dinner.

Not quite sure what he baked the cake in, and I don't know what the
soup he ate for lunch is, but for dinner, some of the elders took
Jaden out to Korean BBQ.  Jaden loves that!
(Looks more appetizing than a meal he ate last week, that's for sure.)

As far as teaching goes, I know that Jaden and his companion have a
baptism coming up this Saturday, and he's been teaching a less active gentleman.
Here is his letter from September 21st:

Hello everyone!

This week was pretty simple. We met with a few investigators, talked with lots of people on the street and visited an elderly less-active brother. BUT a few cool things happened from doing that!

ONE:
Brother Shin, the elder less-active brother, is a hoot! He really likes movies from the Fifties and he asks us if we know them. I only knew Oklahoma, but he said the rest are good too. We've been going to his house once a week for a while, just trying to figure out a good way to get him to church. He is confined to a wheelchair and its a long walk that we just might make now! He told us this week though that his brother in law was in town. His brother has a car and so he said "I'm coming to Church!" The only problem was that we had Stake Conference this week, and we didn't know the address of the Stake Center. So we just went to Stake Conference. In the middle of the meeting, we got a call from Brother Shin. He said "I'm here. Where are you?" So we went outside and helped him into the Church. His brother drove him clear to the Stake Center (a little while away) and Brother Shin made it! It was great.

TWO:
Brother Moon, a Junior in High School, is a super awesome kid. He's nice and funny, what more do you need? (Other than the Gospel). We committed him to be baptized next week!!! And he said yes, and he already talked to his dad and got permission to be baptized. Its so great!!! I can tell he's been prepared for it, and now all he needs are some really awesome friends in the ward and he'll be set! I'm so excited for him to receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost and always have the Spirit to be with him!!

I had a good week. I hope you all did too. Remember that I love you all, and be happy!!

Love,
Elder Roskelley

And from this past Sunday, September 28th:

Well, Brother Moon's baptism had to be delayed. We ran into some schedule conflicts and so Brother Moon's baptism was moved to THIS Saturday. Its okay though, he said he would be okay with an extra week to prepare. Now we just need to find him some white pants that won't fall off of him!

So something cool just happened about ten minutes ago. A few weeks ago, Elder Fisher needed to use the restroom so we walked inside a store. While I was waiting, a woman spoke English to me and asked me where I was from. We had a small conversation in which we told her we were missionaries, not English teachers as she thought. She let us know she lived in Canada for a while and was back here in Korea. She said she already went to church, but she took our card and we asked her to call if she ever had an interest. I say that to SO many people every week. I've only had one other person call back, and today I had a second. This woman called and asked to meet us. We are going to introduce her to the Sister missionaries tomorrow. She may or may not want to take the discussions, but either way she was impressed enough by us talking with her that she called us back. I feel pretty blessed right now.

Also, (sorry Mom!) I have one other cool thing to tell you. Not as cool as miracles, but just cool. We went to a dinner appointment with a Brother and Sister in the ward. Fish. We ordered our fish rice, and as we waited the Sister ordered us a plate of........LIVE OCTOPUS!!!! I'll attach a video. They chop the tentacles off into pieces and that's all you eat. It was actually pretty tasty, and it sure did feel weird in your mouth when it stuck to your tongue and moved around. Don't worry, after you bite it a few times it stops moving as much and you can swallow it without any worries. I'm still alive!

I love you all and hope you really do have a great week!

So, I was excited to read that the work is going well,
but not very excited about the OCTOPUS!

He sent this video clip.  If you're squeamish at all, you may not want to watch!

So, yes, I'd say Jaden has adjusted quite well!
Thank you for your continued prayers and support!

Finally Transferred

I think this was a bitter-sweet week for Jaden.
He received the call a few days ago that he would be transferred from Wonju
where he has served for the last 7 1/2 months.
This transfer came fast!  It just seems like he got a new companion a few weeks ago.
I hope he got some other pictures of his companion.
This one of him cooking is the only one Jaden has sent me.
Jaden did say he is an excellent cook!
Although they didn't serve very long together, I'm sure Jaden learned from him,
in fact, I know he did.

Jaden still sends a lot of pictures of food!
Cracks me up in a way.
Here is a giant snicker doodle he made:

The hardest part about leaving Wonju is, of course, the people.
He especially is going to miss Brother Soh, a young man he's been teaching since May.
I hope they're able to keep in touch.  I sense that Jaden feels close to him.
Here is a picture of Brother Soh and another picture  with a sister from the ward with
her son and daughter-in-law.

Jaden has been transferred to a city just northwest of Seoul called WonDahng.
I can't wait to hear how this week has gone in his new home with his new companion.
Knowing Jaden, it won't take long until he's in love with the new area!

Hitting Halfway!

So, July 31st marked Jaden's one year mark of
serving as a missionary.
And, according to an inside source, August 4, 2015 should be his release date.
That means a year from today he'll be home!
(Probably sleeping which is what he usually did when he was home!)
I can't believe how fast it's gone by.
To celebrate his being out a year, some of the elders took Jaden
out to Baskin Robins!
(Yes, they actually have Baskin Robins in Korea! Who knew?)

I know the initial drop off can be hard, and I know there are times
when I've missed Jaden, but honestly, it hasn't been as hard
as I thought it would be.
I know he's in the right place doing the right thing for himself
and the people of Korea.

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I thought Jaden would be transferred.
It's funny how the spirit works.
A couple of days before we heard from Jaden,
Chris kept praying that Jaden would adapt to his new area, etc.,
and I kept having a feeling that maybe he wouldn't be transferred.
As I wrote him on his p-day, I had the impression to tell him
that the Lord still had a purpose for him in Wonju, where he's been since February.
Sure enough, Jaden e-mailed back and said he had not been transferred.
He's okay with it, though, and feels he still has some work to do,
especially with one young man he's been teaching since May.
His companion was transferred.  I know Jaden learned so much from him,
especially when it came to the language.
Here is a picture of them together on the 4th of July:

Jaden's new companion is an elder that lived in the states until he was five,
but since has lived in Guam and Japan.
So far, Jaden seems to be getting along very well with him.
(Jaden gets along with almost anyone.)

(Sorry, some of these pics are blurry.)

One of the things Jaden seems to enjoy is hiking on p-day.
That's something he enjoyed doing before he left, too.
Here are some pics of a hike he took to a mountain called Cheeak Sahn:

What a beautiful place!  Of course, he knew he'd get a reaction from
me by taking a picture on the other side of the fence!
I HATE heights!  They SCARE ME TO DEATH!
He promised he wouldn't do it again.  (ha! ha!)
I'm glad he gets to go hiking though.  This one took about four and a half hours.

Here are a couple of other random pictures:

This is Elder Farr of Farr's Ice-cream.  He returned home last week.

Elder Moon also finished his mission last week.
People think he is from Mexico, but he's Korean.

And it's good to see that Jaden still likes to goof off,
but in the end he's still an ANGEL!!!

Thanks again for all of your continued support!

Kimchee, S'mores, and Root Beer!

It seems like forever since I've posted anything.
Because of that, this is going to be a very long post.
Jaden is doing well and has sent some pictures over the last few weeks.
I find it interesting that he always sends pictures of food.
After all this time, we finally got a picture of Kimchee.  Yum! (as I gag!)
It actually looks a little more appetizing than I thought it would!
Jaden says, and his words, "It's great!"

I thought I'd just share part of Jaden's e-mails over the past few weeks.
He didn't send out a mass e-mail this week, which tells me he was in a hurry!
But that also let's me know that things are good.

Here is part of his e-mail from June 22nd: "This week I got to see a miracle that was rather distinct and incredible. As a zone, we had two fasts for two specific things: one, that we would find a new investigator through our efforts, and two, that someone would find us on their own. This last Wednesday was a day we were fasting. (My companion) and I were ready to leave the house, and one of the other Elders almost told us to wait just a couple of minutes so we could all leave together. He didn't though, and so (we) left. We went to the Church to drop some books off, and maybe less than a minute after we walked into the church, we heard someone else come in. We went out in the hall to meet a 23 year old young man.... He told us that he was visiting Wonju for the day, and lately had been curious about the "Mormons". He had found our church and wanted to learn more. He couldn't meet right then, so we set up an appointment for a few hours later and gave him our card. He showed up to the appointment, and we were able to teach him about the Restoration. It was great. He is agnostic, and isn't sure if God exists. He asked us if we believe our meeting was destined, but we told him we feel it was allowed. He said he didn't know the difference, and we told him that God allowed us to have the chance to meet, but that ultimately (he) had the choice whether or not to actually come into the church. He immediately said "Ah, I get it! The critical thing is that we have a choice!" I just wanted to jump up and shout "You've got it!" because I could tell that the Spirit was bearing witness to him of the simple principle of agency. The rest of the lesson went well. He is in the army so can't meet for another month, but I know that this was an answer to our fasting and prayers."

And from June 29th: "This week, (my companion) and I ran into a man that I met on the street a month or so ago. We had tried meeting with him but he was always too busy. But when we ran into him, he had time. As we walked, we asked how he had become Christian. (Its very obvious to people that he loves the Savior). He told us about how he had spent 6 years in jail for doing some bad things, and how as he was there he met a Pastor and got involved in a support group. He said that because of his belief in God and Christ, he didn't want to be bad anymore. He told us that he is working on quiting smoking, that he doesn't drink anymore. It was really neat. The whole time I just had an overwhelming feeling of love for him. He was really fun to be around, and was really nice too. I was grateful that I could spend time and get to know one of our Brothers.

I also got to go into Seoul again this week! Its always great! "
So, he's had lots of opportunities to meet people and it seems to be
easier for him to talk to them.
I also know he loves going to Seoul because that usually means a trip to the temple!
Here is a picture of him with his companion:

Jaden LOVES the 4th of July!  I actually had a package to send him,
but time got away from me and I didn't send it off.
But it was fun to hear and see from the picture of the s'more that
he was able to celebrate one of his favorite holidays in Korea!

Here is his letter from July 6th:

"Hello Everyone!!!

Not much happened this week. It went by WAY fast. We (the missionaries) put on a Music Night at the Church. We hoped to get a lot of less active and non members to come, and they did!! We had about ten numbers, a solo from the Secret Garden to a Soprano Saxophone Serenade and everything in between. I was worried I would be stressed out, but it went so smoothly for not even having a real rehearsal. The Spirit was there, and as one Sister bore her testimony, the Spirit came even stronger and sweeter. It was such a good night!!!! And everyone that came said they had a good time. Ah. I was so glad to be a part of our little Night of Music.

I also had a small chance to celebrate the Fourth of July with my District. We ate pizza, I made a smore, and some peaches. We also had a drink that is almost non existent in Korea......ROOT BEER!!!! It made the Fourth almost like home! I hope you all enjoyed the Holiday too!!!

I love you all and I want you ALL to have another EXCELLENT week!!"

Here is Jaden singing with an Elder from Kaysville at their music night:
(I'm glad he gets opportunities to do what he loves!)

I mentioned before that he didn't have time to send out a mass e-mail this past week,
but in his e-mail to me, he sent this picture of him with his zone leader:
(I see he still likes to make faces at the camera.)

Jaden expects to be transferred from Wonju soon, probably next week.
He has loved his time there, and has especially been grateful for his current companion
who has helped him so much with the Korean language.
He has experienced many miracles, and has witnessed the Lord's hand
as he has met with different individuals.
I'm so grateful for the growth that I've seen in him.
I can't believe it's been almost a year since we dropped him off at the MTC!

Father's Day? What's That?

Yep, Jaden forgot it was Father's Day!
I reminded him in my e-mail to him,
and told him to write a nice note back to his dad.
Instead, he told Chris that he had indeed forgotten and
that I had reminded him!
(At least he's honest!)
He did send a link to a video that I'm sure many of you have seen,
but in case you haven't, here it is:
(You'll have to highlight the link, right click, and then open the link.)

https://www.lds.org/media-library/video/2013-01-002-earthly-father-heavenly-father?lang=eng

How grateful I am for father's and the divine role they play in
our Heavenly Father's Plan!
I am especially thankful for my own husband and father,
and for a loving Heavenly Father who has given me everything!

Now, back to the mission....
Things are going well in Won Ju.  Jaden has an investigator they've
been working with since March who has been
asking some very specific questions about the Priesthood.
Jaden seems to think his questions are being answered, and is very hopeful
this man will accept the invitation to be baptized.
He also has another gentleman that the elders have been reading
the Book of Mormon with.  He loves to read,
so Jaden is hopeful that he'll read and study the Book of Mormon
and gain a testimony of it.
He also has a young man he's been teaching for the past month who
has accepted the invitation for baptism, and a date is set for the end of June.
However, he is not quite 18 and needs parental permission.
We are praying that they will give it.
Otherwise, he will be baptized in August when he turns 18.  So exciting!
So, things are going well with investigators right now.

Here are some random pictures he e-mailed last night:

Above are the elders in Jaden's apartment.
Looks about what I expected an elder's apartment to look like!
Below, Jaden's standing in front of planes at an air force (just like home),
and his zone in Won Ju.
He has a new hair style.  I hardly recognize him!

It's hard to believe Jaden's almost been out a year!
I know for some, time moves very slowly with a missionary out,
but I have not felt that at all!
I think being able to e-mail Jaden weekly has helped,
and knowing he's in the right place doing what he should be doing helps a lot!
So grateful he chose to serve!

Mother's Day Call and Busy with the Work

It's been a while since I've given an update on Jaden. Time is flying by!
He's been out nearly 10 months.
I failed last time I posted to include this picture of Jaden wearing the Easter tie I mailed him.
He was a smart boy and took a picture of himself in it, and even went outside.
We have a tradition of taking pictures of the kids in their new Easter attire,
and the last few years, we've gone outside to do it.
I was impressed that Jaden had been so perceptive!

I began having a feeling toward the end of April that change was in store for Jaden.
I thought maybe he would get transferred.
I found out when I e-mailed him that week that he would not be transferred,
but his companion would be.
Jaden's new companion is an elder from Portland, and he has been out for a little
over a year. Jaden says he does very well with the language,
and already, Jaden has learned so much from him.  Here is his picture:

All of us were looking forward to a call on Mother's Day.
I must admit...I'm still a bit envious of those that get to Skype,
but still, it was great to hear his voice.
We invited grandparents and Jaden's girlfriend over for dinner
while waiting for the call.
It was a little hard to hear him when we put the phone on speaker,
but we left one phone on speaker, and passed another one around
so we could all say hi for a minute one on one.

The work has been slow for the most part since Jaden's been in Korea.
He's experienced many appointment cancellations,
and many who just don't follow through on their commitments it seems.
He did get to baptize another sister that the sister missionaries have been teaching.
Jaden says she has a lot of faith in Heavenly Father.
Here is a picture from her baptism.

We keep praying that Jaden will have opportunities to teach and baptize,
and those prayers have been answered a bit this week.
It was a very busy week for Jaden, but a great one!
When Jaden called on Mother's Day, I asked if he had any new investigators.
He told us about an 18 year old young man that they had met, and who seemed interested.
He mentioned that this young man (who is still in high school) was very respectful of
the missionaries.  I guess there are quite a few of the youth that make fun of the
Elders for the way they're dressed and because they're religious, etc.
But this young man didn't do that.
When Jaden e-mailed last night, he informed us that this young man had
committed to be baptized at the end of June! So exciting!
Jaden also picked up a couple of other investigators this week.
One was a man they met on the street this past Friday.
Jaden and his companion gave this man their number,
and really didn't expect to hear any more from him.
It happens a lot!  However, they got a text from this man
asking when church was, and he showed up on Sunday!
I think Jaden was surprised, and I'm sure very happy!
They're also teaching a man whose wife is a less active member.
He has a desire to go to church, so maybe this will work out
for both he and his wife.  Let's hope it does!
Jaden also had a chance to play sports with the gentleman pictured below.
He is a less active member, so hopefully he'll also have a desire to come back to church.
It's awesome to hear of these experiences, and I hope and pray that all of
these individuals and others that Jaden is teaching will truly be
committed to studying the gospel and doing all that they can to draw closer to our Heavenly Father.

Jaden sent this picture a few weeks ago of his ward mission leader and his wife.
He says that the mission leaders wife is like  a mother to all of the missionaries.
It's a very comforting feeling to this missionary mom!
I'm so grateful for the assurance that our Heavenly Father is looking out
for Jaden through the help of others.
It makes Mother's Day and other days easier!

Mission Miracles

It's been a while since I've posted anything.
I guess I feel blog's are more interesting with pictures, and Jaden hasn't sent too many recently, but he's sent a few over the last couple of weeks.

He sent this one of a fan a few weeks back.  There is a gentleman in the area he's serving
whose family are members, but he has never joined, although he goes to church
more regularly than his wife and children.  He took the six missionaries in the area to his
Chinese Character academy, and then out to dinner.
While he was with them asked each of them what their favorite scripture
in the Book of Mormon was.
Jaden responded with 2 Nephi 32:3.  The gentleman then wrote the words
"feast upon the words of Christ" on the fan.
He of course wrote something from each of the missionaries, and this was the result:

  Pretty cool, huh?!
It's fun to see the little bits of Asian culture that Jaden sends home in his pictures.
Although this gentleman is not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
Jaden is confident that he will join at some point.

Last week, Jaden had the opportunity to go on a hike to a Buddhist Temple.
I waited all Sunday night to get an e-mail and it didn't come.
The hike ended up taking 4 hours longer than expected!
But, I woke up the next morning to an e-mail from him.
Here are the pics from his hike:

Jaden shared a couple of neat experiences he has had where he witnessed miracles.
I am going to copy and paste from his letters because I think it's best in his own words.

"My miracle of the week happened yesterday. We were a little short on food this week, and it came down to only having some eggs and hotdogs for our dinner yesterday. We weren't looking forward to it, but I thought it wouldn't be too bad, I'd just be a little hungry going to bed. But at church, one Sister gave us a big bunch of bananas. I thought "'Phew. Those will help fill us up.'" though I still wasn't expecting to be entirely full. And then another Sister gave us a bag that had rice, curry, meat, and kimchee in it. We were so blessed. We had a good meal for dinner, and we weren't hungry afterwards. I felt that maybe these Sisters felt prompted to give us food, or maybe they were just being kind for no reason. Either way, I know that Heavenly Father blessed us, even if it was something as simple as having a good meal for dinner.
Also, spring is here! the blossoms are so beautiful! Have a good week everyone!!!

Love,
Elder Roskelley"

I was so worried when I found out he was short on food,
but then he reminded me that "yesterday" would have been the Sabbath.
They just didn't have a chance to shop on Saturday.
So grateful that the Lord watches out for His children and knows their needs,
and so grateful for those who are in tune with the spirit to meet the needs of others!

Then last Sunday, he shared an experience he had with General Conference.
This is what he said:

"My miracle of the week happened yesterday. About halfway through the first session of General Conference, Sister Kim walked in and asked for some help. Elder Diede and I walked out to the hall to see a forien woman there. I tried speaking English to her, but she held up her hands in a cross. Then, in a very thick accent, I heard "Russia". She was a Russian woman, about 60 years old. Just from hand gestures, and city names, I gathered that she had been baptized in Russia, had come to the Seoul Temple for her endowment, and has been in Korea for 8 years since. But that was all I understood. I had no idea why she was at our church, or what she needed. I thought maybe she wanted to watch General Conference, so the four of us walked into another room with a computer, and I pulled up LDS.org. Elder Diede told me to translate the page into Russian, which I did. But the woman just shook her head. Previously, out in the hallway, the thought had crossed my mind "Use Google Translate". Now that we were by a computer, I quickly pulled up Google Translate, and set the option to translate into Russian. The woman could not type, so I could only translate yes or no questions. I reaffirmed what I had guessed about her, and then proceeded to ask if she wanted to view General Conference. She humbly nodded her head. I believe she hasn't seen it in the 8 years she has lived in Korea. I told her we would pull it up, and then I told her I was glad to meet her. Then I asked her what her name was. She quietly said "'Claria'". I told her my name, and told her that if she needed any more help, we would be right next door. She quietly said "'Thank you.'" After the English session of conference ended, we took a small break. I was in the bathroom when Claria walked out. Elder Diede and Sister Kim walked her to the gate, and assured me later that she was okay. I don't know if I'll ever see her again, but I am so grateful that not only would the Lord provide such a great tool such as a simple translator, but that he would allow the Holy Ghost to prompt me to use Google Translate. I am sure Claria bennifited much from Conference. I know I benefited much from this experience. I'm grateful that Heavenly Father would allow me to be here to help Claria. It was an amazing experience.

I love you all, and please spend your week well! (That sounds cooler in Korean.)

Love,
Elder Roskelley"

Miracles do happen!  Our Heavenly Father lives and loves us, and knows our needs!
We are His hands! That has been a resounding message for me
in the past few weeks.  If we will strive each day to listen to the promptings of
the Holy Ghost, we can be a part of those miracles that happen.
I truly have a testimony of this principal!
It's nearing the end of Easter Sunday, and I am so grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ,
and for His sacrifice.  I know He is the son of God,
that He came to earth to show us by example how we should live.
I'm so grateful to know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ,
we can be forgiven of our sins and someday live with Him and all of our loved ones again.
How grateful I am for my knowledge of the Plan of Salvation!

Holy Squid!

I apologize if the title of this post offends anyone.
It's just the first thing that popped into my head.
Jaden has settled into his new area, and I think he's growing accustomed to the food!
At least, he's willing to try things that don't sound too appetizing to me.
He knew going in that he would be trying rotten cabbage and dog,
but I'm not sure he thought that squid would be on the menu!

I'm sure he preferred the Barbeque Chicken that a member made for him
and the Elders he lives with.  He of course took pictures of that, too!

Yes, that does look a little more appetizing!
But, I'm sure he would have loved to get a box of Valentine's Candy from me!
I actually went to mail him one, but it was going to cost me $46.00.
I came home and ate the chocolate myself, but then felt really guilty
when he sent this picture of his companion getting Valentine's glasses
(and I'm sure candy) from his family!
I made sure I sent him one for Easter!

As far as the work, it's going a little slow.  Jaden and his companion
are working with a couple of investigators, but they usually end up cancelling their appointments.
He and his companion have been tracting a little, but most people don't answer their doors.
He decided to get a picture of that, too!
We continue to pray that doors will be open, and that Jaden will have more
opportunities to teach the gospel.

Thanks for your continued support!
