Happy New Year!

So, Elder Roskelley went from 19 to 21 in just a few months!
How did that happen?
I'll let his letter explain:
I hope you all had a wonderful January 1, 2014. In Korea, everyone's age changes with the New Year. And since they consider themselves one year old at birth, I'm 21 in Korea. I feel old!

This week was a good week of missionary work. A lot of street contacting, which is always good. We also met with a former investigator this week. He met with missionaries last May, and wasn't able to meet with us again until this week...(He) is about 47 years old. I think he wants to find greater meaning for his life, and I'm so glad he is looking to us for help. We just read some verses from the Book of Mormon together and said a prayer. Afterward, he said he felt at peace. I'm excited to meet with him and teach him more about the Gospel.

Not too much else out of the ordinary happened this week. I did meet a kid my age who is training to be a Navy Seal later on this year. It was kind of cool I thought.

I hope you all have another excellent week! Make someone smile everyday this week!

Love,
Elder Roskelley

Jaden also sent a newsletter that a couple in the mission office puts together.
Most of it was in Korean, so I couldn't really read it,
but they posted some pictures of the 160 missionaries that came
together on Christmas Day for a mission conference.
I decided to play "Where's Jaden?" and thought I'd invite you to play along.

Can you spot him?
It took me a few minutes, so don't give up!

I also haven't posted anything since speaking to Jaden on Christmas night.
We were able to talk to him for about 40-45 minutes.
He got emotional at the end of the conversation,
and we kept saying "bye" over and over,
so I was worried that maybe the phone call wasn't a good idea...
that maybe it made him homesick.
But, he assured me in his letter last week that it was actually very good for him
and actually gave him a lift for the rest of the week.
I was grateful for that.  At home, we were all so anxious and excited to talk to him,
and it made me realize I never considered it might be hard for him.
I was glad to learn it was helpful to him.

The love and support of family and friends is so important!
Thanks to those who have shown their love and support to our family and especially to Jaden!
Happy New Year!
