First Baptism

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to give a report on Jaden's mission in Sacrament meeting.
One of the speakers had a family emergency, so they filled in with the parents of those serving from our ward.  I reported that I thought Jaden was a little discouraged because a couple of baptisms that had been scheduled fell through.
What I didn't know was that just the day before
(Sunday in Korea, Saturday in the USA) Jaden had the opportunity to baptize
a 72 year old gentleman that the sister missionaries have been teaching.
Jaden's companion is the District Leader, so when he was interviewing this brother,
the man told Jaden's companion that he wanted the "big, tall one" to baptize him!
Jaden was shocked because he can barely talk to him, but of course, he was willing
and was grateful for the experience.  Jaden said this man is a very kind person.

The group picture is a bit blurry, but it's all of the ward minus a family of seven
that was out of town that day. I think they're going to be a great support to this new member.
The last picture is the city Jaden is serving in.
He said the city is probably about five times bigger than what is shown here.

Other than the baptism, Jaden and his companion are teaching two brothers right now.
They taught a lesson to the younger brother on Monday night, and when
they got home, the mother called to see if they could come back the next night.
Of course they said yes, and when they went back on Tuesday night,
the older brother also was taught.  Jaden seems to think it's promising.

His letter sounded very positive and upbeat this week.
I think being able to see the change in the lives of those he's serving
is making a change in his own life.
Makes me happy!
