He's Moved!

I'm behind!  Jaden has been in his new area for two weeks now!
He seems to be enjoying it so far.
His first week there, he just was settling in,
but this past week he had the opportunity to meet some investigators.
Before he left Chuncheon, his ward mission leader had
Jaden and his companion over for dinner.
I have appreciated this brother so much.
He has sent pictures to me, and written little notes which have just
meant the world to a mother thousands of miles away!
I'm sure Jaden will cherish the memories he has made with this family,
and others he knew in Chuncheon.

Jaden's new area is Wonju.  He actually lives in a foursome right now.
They look so young! Jaden says his companion is very funny, so that made the move easy.
He seems to be getting along with all of them so far!

And he sent this picture from his apartment 18 floors up!  Whoa!
I feel my vertigo kicking in!

Everything seems to be going well.  The language is slowly coming, but it is coming!
The ward in Wonju always has the new elders speak in Sacrament meeting,
so Jaden had that opportunity his first Sunday there.
Afterward, the ward ate dinner together, and he said they're funny.
Sounds like Jaden might have some fun in this area with a funny companion and funny ward!
I'm sure he'll be just fine!

First Transfer and Lunar New Year

So, about a week and a half ago I was driving home from my sister's
and had a very strong impression come to me.
The words "Jaden is getting transferred" came into my mind.
I asked him last week, and he said if he did get transferred he would find out that Saturday,
which would have been two days ago.

Well, tonight in his e-mail, Jaden confirmed that he is getting transferred to a city
two hours away from where he is now called Wonju (pronounced One-Jew).
He seems to be excited for the change, and I am too, although I think
the people in the Chuncheon ward will miss him,
especially the little girl he is in the picture with.
She is in the pictures with him at Christmas time as well,
and from the smile on her face in this picture,
I think she likes Elder Roskelley.
She is dressed up in traditional Korean attire to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
Isn't she darling?

They held a mission conference, and as part of the conference they celebrated the
Lunar New Year.  A local high school loaned some instruments to the mission,
so some of the missionaries were able to play a song together.
Jaden wishes he would have signed-up!
(He played the French Horn and Trumpet in Jr. High.)
 Looks like fun!

I'm excited for the changes that are happening for Jaden.
I have learned that change always brings growth if we allow it to.

Jaden also challenged us in his letter today to do something this week
to share our testimonies on-line.  He isn't able to get on any social media sites,
but encouraged those of us that can to make sure and share the
gospel with others.  So, I'm extending that challenge to each of you.
Whether it's on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.,
make sure and spread the good news of the gospel in one of your posts this week!

The gospel is true!  Jesus Christ lives and loves us!
Don't ever forget or doubt that!
